BOI Retired Employees Medical Assistance Scheme:
An employee who retires on superannuation or under VRS after completion of 30 years of service or after completion of 55 years of age, is eligible to become member for the said scheme, by paying an amount equivalent to his last drawn basic pay.  The retiring employee has to become a member by submitting his application alongwith a DD for the amount of last drawn basic pay, WITHIN A PERIOD OF SIX MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF RETIREMENT.

Coverage:  Retired employees of the Bank and his/her house only will be eligible for the benefits under the scheme.  On death of the retired employee, the spouse will continue to be covered under the scheme, only if the spouse is not gainfully employed.

Benefits:  A member is eligible for reimbursement of 
(i) Domiciliary medical treatment to the extent of Rs.2000 per welfare year, which will be directly credited by HO to the respective members account.  Members are not required to submit their request for reimbursement, every year.  
 (ii) Hospitalisation expenses of 90% of the bill amount subject to maximum of Rs.5000 per annum. (iii)  For diseases viz Cancer, Leukaemia, thalasamea, Tuberculosis, Paralysis, Cardiac ailment, Kidney ailment, Brain tumour and operations connected with said diseases and other Retinal Detachment, Liver and Gall Bladder, Prost4rate and Hernia shall be considered to the extent of 90% of the bill amount subject to a maximum of Rs.20,000 per annum.  However in respect of neuro/cardiac/kidney/liver/cancer surgeries, if hospitalization expenses (including surgery charges0 exceed Rs.1.00 lakh, 90% of the bill amount subject to a maximum of Rs.1.00 lakh would be reimbursed.

OR

If a member is claiming reimnbursement of premium amount paid in respect of BOI National Swastya Bima Yojana, such premium amount presently being Rs.7,079 may be reimbursed, however, in lieu, domiciliary expenses of Rs.2000 will not be reimbursed and also the member will not be eligible for claiming reimbursement of hospitalization expenses as above.

Reimbursement of expenses as mentioned above will be subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.1.00 lakh for life for each member i.e. for self and spouse together.

Other Conditions:

a.     The medical premium of Rs.5000 is for self and spouse at Rs.2500 per head, where spouse is not gainfully employed.

b.     Welfare year commences from 1st  March of every year and ends on 28th/29th of February of next year.

c.      Member has to stake his claim of eexpenses in the same welfare year in which the expenses are incurred.

d.     Expenses incurred only after the date of acceptance of membership will be considered for reimbursement.
